L2834 - Four ladies pose for Newton's camera on a bench at Middle Claydon, a small Buckinghamshire village that lay a short distance to the east of the London Extension. The photograph was taken in June 1897, on the day before Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Perhaps this explains why three of the women are wearing the same badge on their hats.
