Description
Situated on the west side of the high street, Plowman and Son was a family nursery business, seen here c. 1892-1895.

Starting as a market stall the business grew until the family opened a shop in Church Street in 1874 and then moved to the High Street in 1877. This long established family run business continued through the generations until the 1970s when the shop in Harborough finally closed. Number 6 High Street became a shoe shop and then a card shop.
