Title
Thorpe Lubbenham Hall
Description
Thorpe Lubenham Hall stands in an estate of 1500 acres. In the twentieth century, the Wernhers who lived there between 1918 and 1976 bought it. Zia Wernher was of Romanov and Nassau descent, so the family was frequently included in high society events. The daughter of the former owners, Sir Harold and Lady Zia Wernher, became Georgina Phillips, who invited the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and their children to the Hall. This created much media attention and large crowds in the village during the 1960s. The Hall is still lived in today.
