Title
L2860 - Aylesbury town centre
Description
L2860 - Aylesbury square and clock tower, photographed around 1900. The Metropolitan Railway had reached the town in 1892, and once the London Extension began using the Metropolitan network for its route into the capital from 1899, Aylesbury also became a stop on the Great Central's new mainline. Assuming the clock is correct, the square is remarkably quiet considering it is half-past two in the afternoon.
