Title
Liberty NuBack/NuEase hookside girdle, 1954: Back view
Description
Back view of a Liberty NuBack/NuEase hookside girdle of 1954. This lightweight, but hardwearing garment was advertised on television, in the press and in women's magazines and became one of Symington's most successful products of the period.

The NuEase panel, located in the front of the garment, moved downwards as the wearer stooped forward. This was to ensure the steels did not poke into the diaphragm.

The girdle is high-waisted and is made from tea rose pink faille satin and elastic batiste.
