Description
A Liberty "Air-Cell" corselet with underbelt from 1960. The "Air-Cell" range featured a wide mesh, cotton cellular lining which insulated pockets at even temperatures. It was designed to provide warmth in the winter, but remain cool in the summer.
The main body of the corselet is made from white broche and elastic batiste, with a drill and batiste underbelt and taffeta shoulder straps. The top of the bust is made from nylon lace and is lined with marquisette. The corselet is moderately boned with spiral and flat steels.
