Title
L2436 - Brick abutment of Leicester viaduct
Description
L2436 - A view across the River Soar towards the brick abutment of Leicester viaduct. In the foreground is a temporary wooden bridge, built prior to the construction of the lattice girder structure that eventually carried the Last Main Line across the River. The contractor responsible for building this section of the railway (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone) was Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton.
