Title
L2440 - Deep cutting at Dunton Bassett tunnel, Leicestershire
Description
L2440 - An impressive view looking south along the deep cutting that brought the Last Main Line into the short tunnel at Dunton Bassett. Given that the tracks on the right are the main line permanent way, and those on the left are contractor's temporary rails, the latter have been surprisingly well laid and maintained. Note the brick parapet in the foreground: the photograph was taken from the road bridge between Dunton Bassett and Gilmorton.
