L2449 - Two navvies pose for Newton's camera beside a three arch brick overbridge spanning a cutting near Swithland, Leicestershire. The permanent way has been laid, but the ballast has yet to be swept over the sleepers. This section of the Last Main Line (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone) was constructed by Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton.
