Title
L2460 - Three arch brick overbridge near Willoughby Waterleys, Leicestershire
Description
L2460 - Bridge 408, a three arch brick occupation overbridge that crossed the London Extension west of Willoughby Waterleys, Leicestershire. In his original notes, S. W. A. Newton refers to this as Holyoaks Bridge. Interestingly, the bridge must have been built relatively early on in the Line's construction, as smoke rising from the contractor's locomotives that have been passing to and fro along the temporary tracks on the left has already blackened the structure's brickwork. The tracks on the right are the main line permanent way, although the sleepers have yet to be packed with ballast.
