Title
L2462 - Preparing the site for Hucknall Station, Nottinghamshire
Description
L2462 - Built by Logan & Hemingway as part of Contract No.1 (Annesley to Leake), this is Hucknall Station during the early stages of its construction. The line of brickwork marks the edge of the station's single 'island' platform. Visible on the left of the picture are two lines of wagons belonging to the Midland Railway, doubtless employed to ferry materials to and from the site. Note the quality of the temporary tracks: for contractor's rails they have been relatively well laid and maintained.
