A child's corset bodice made in Germany in 1917. The bodice is constructed from a canvas weave fabric made from paper twine. This unusual fabric was developed as a response to severe shortages during World War One, which meant that materials previously seen as waste products were now turned into useful replacement fabrics.
The bodice was probably designed for children aged between 2 and 3.
