L2306 - Built by Henry Lovatt & Co. as part of Contract No.2 (Leake to Aylestone), this is the girder span of the southern section of the viaduct which carried the London Extension across Swithland Reservoir. Thanks to the present Great Central Railway, this picturesque section of the Last Main Line remains in use, and steam services continue to provide passengers with an authentic experience of rail travel.
