Description
L2308 - The fine brick arches of the south section of Swithland viaduct (bridge No. 350), photographed looking south around 1897. To enable the viaduct's construction, the reservoir had to be totally drained and then later refilled. The contractor responsible for building this section of the Line (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone) was Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton.
