Title
"The Perfect Contour" bust bodice, 1902
Description
"The Perfect Contour" deep supporting bust bodice, patented in 1902. It is made from heavily starched, strong cotton net with deep horizontal and vertical steel supports. The curved front is kept in place by a triple layer of goose quills. These have been bound together by hand using a cotton thread.

The bodice is held to the body by means of a wide steel band at the back of the garment, linked together with tapes. The top of the bodice is edged with cotton lace, through which a narrow ribbon has been threaded.
