Description
Ribbon detail from a pink brief uplift brassiere from 1930.
It is made from cotton poplin with multi-coloured trimming across the top edge. The shoulder straps are made from rayon and cotton and feature a geometric design. The brassiere has an elastic inset at the back and is fastened with a hook and eye.
Inside the brassiere at the centre front is a small pocket. This could possibly have been used to hold a perfumed pad.
