Title
Deep brassiere, 1932
Description
This deep brassiere of 1932, made from pink broche, demonstrates the new era of design developing in the 1930s. These new designs gradually, but completely, changed the shape of the brassiere.

The bust sections are divided and each section has been stitched with two darts to provide the garment with its shape. There is also a shaped diaphragm band underneath the bust section. The brassiere is fastened at the centre back with a hook and eye.

This particular brassiere does not have any elastic insets and has fixed shoulder straps, so it could not be adjusted to fit.
