Title
L2341 - The Great Central junction at Woodford, Northamptonshire
Description
L2341 - Photographed looking north around 1900, this short spur off the London Extension at Woodford went on to join the Stratford & Midland Junction railway before entering Byfield. Just visible beyond the array of semaphore signals is Woodford station, together with its warehouse, sidings and goods yard. Woodford itself was a relatively small location to host such considerable railway facilities, and the Great Central's presence turned a once sleepy Midlands village into a thriving railway community.
