A slip-on bandeau in cream elasticated Cluny lace from 1925. The popularity of the bandeau was at its height during this period, but the style continued to sell until the outbreak of World War II. It was simple to put on, comfortable to wear and easily washed.

The bandeau is made from lace known as ventilated elastic and was supplied to the Symington company by Clustom and Kemp Ltd. The front piece is gathered at each side, giving a slight fullness to the garment. A metal clip is attached to the narrow webbing at the centre front. This would have been attached to the busk stud of a corset, helping to keep the bandeau in place.
