Title
L2347 - Contractor's railway and shed, Buckinghamshire
Description
L2347 - A line of poorly laid contractor's railway passes by a temporary engine shed on an embankment littered with debris, photographed near Haddenham during construction of the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line, circa 1903. In front of the shed sits a contractor's locomotive, ready to resume its tireless work of hauling men, materials and machinery back and forth along the route under construction. Built between 1901-05 by Louis P. Nott, this section of the Joint Railway ran from Grendon Underwood to Princes Risborough.
