Description
The original owner was William Byerley Paget of Southfield, Loughborough. It is described as a 15h.p. White Steam Car, with a tonneau body painted green with black stripes. The weight of the vehicle was 18cwt. It was originally used as a private vehicle and was first registered on 27 March 1905. It was later registered to Liberty & Co Ltd of Regent St., London W. on 28 April 1909. A van body with sheet metal cover was added which was removable if required, and the vehicle was used for trade purposes. William Byerley Paget was High Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1890. He was later a magistrate in Loughborough and lived at Southfield, Leicester Road. In 1911, he and his wife and daughter lived there with a staff of eight servants.
