Title
Green flannelette corset, 1900: Detail of embroidery
Description
Detail of embroidery and edging from a woman's corset of 1900. A busk front corset produced in 1900. It is made from a heavy green flannelette, which has been lined with brown twill.

The corset has a straight front style, which was typical of the late 19th century, and is supported with wide, flat steel boning.

Machine-stitched flossing in a pale green colour has been used around the top and bottom of the corset. The top edge is also decorated with pale and dark green Barmen edging.
