Title
L2216 - Incomplete viaduct near Rugby, Warwickshire
Description
L2216 - This is the unfinished Rugby Works viaduct in Warwickshire, photographed around 1897. The brickwork appears complete, and the structure awaits the iron spans. Note the contractor's temporary rails on the left of the picture, and the navvy in the foreground, doubtless taking a well earned break. Topham, Jones & Railton was the contractor responsible for building this section of the Line (Contract No.3, Aylestone to Rugby).
