The Royal Opera House stood on Silver Street, Leicester, with the read of the building being on Cank St. The theatre opened on Thursday 6th September 1877. The final performance took place on 11th of June 1960 and the theatre was demolished later that year. The Malcolm Arcade was built in its place.
