Negatives Collection, Leicestershire Record Office

An aerial view of Wigston Magna, looking south west west towards South Wigston. Notable features on the photo include:

- The church in the centre is All Saint's Church, with the large road running top-bottom next to it Moat Street.
- Wigston Academy is at the top left, complete with children in the playground.
- The railway runs from the top right corner to upper left. The plume of a steam train is by the school.
- The Peace Memorial Park (established as a WW1 memorial) is on the far right, next to the allotments.
- The building that would eventually become the Record Office is just out of shot on the far right.

Most of the fields, especially those on the left, have since been built over. Some of the larger buildings (such as the gas works on the left) have since been demolished.
