The Trocadero Theatre once stood on the corner of Scraptoft Lane and Uppingham Road in the Humberstone area of Leicester. The theatre opened on 1st October 1931. The theatre contained a cinema, a ballroom, a swimming pool (known as the Humberstone Lido) and a café. The cinema closed on 16th March 1963 and the building converted into a bingo club. The theatre was badly damaged in a fire on 8th September 1967 and the remains demolished shortly after.
Some of the trees and plants from the sculpted gardens (the 'Alpine Garden') still remain today.
