The old Borough Gaol was a prison that stood on Highcross St, Leicester. A gaol has stood on the site since 1297, with the Borough Gaol being built in 1791.

One of the gaol's first prisoners was its architect, George Moneypenny, who was imprisoned for debt. The famed Daniel Lambert also worked there as a gaoler.

The building was demolished in 1897. The only remaining trace of the gaol is a pillar of brickwork between two buildings on Highcross St.
