The Pavilion Theatre once stood on the corner of Belgrave Gate and Wilton Street in Leicester city centre. It was built in 1890, and named The New Prince of Wales Theatre of Variety. In 1893 it was renamed New Tivoli Theatre of Varieties, and then in 1901 renamed the Pavilion. Houdini himself once performed on the stage in 1902. The theatre was demolished in 1930 as part of the Belgrave gate road widening scheme.
