Thomas Wolsey (March 1473 - 29 November 1530) was a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and became Lord Chancellor to King Henry VIII. He fell out of favour with Henry due to failing to win him a marriage annulment, and was demoted to Archbishop of York. He died of natural causes in Leicester en route to London.

Wolsey is buried in Abbey Park. The tomb he had planned for himself in St Paul's Cathedral in London is now used by Lord Nelson.
