Blacksmithery
The blacksmith is named Dick Thompson, believed at the time to be the oldest working blacksmith in England, having worked for almost 80 years. He and his son John Thompson (also a blacksmith) both worked in the Glenfield area. On 30th July 1949 they featured in an article in the Illustrated Leicester Chronicle newspaper.
