Aerial photograph showing farmland to the east of Wakerley, Northamptonshire. The River Welland can be seen snaking to the left. The long straight line crossing the road is the remains of the railway, heading towards Wakerley and Barrowden Station. The station closed on 6th June 1966 and the line shortly afterwards.

The large crane in the photograph is Sundew, a dragline excavator. Sundew was built to work in a Rutland iron ore quarry, and was named after the winning horse in the 1957 Grand National. When the quarry closed in 1974 Sundew was to be relocated to Corby, but due to the sheer size of the machine it was too expensive to dismantle. Instead, the excavator 'walked' 13 miles from Exton to Corby, taking over 8 weeks to reach its new home.
