Title
Neolithic Stone Axe
Description
Found at Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire. This polished stone axe would have been hafted onto a wooden handle. Stone axes such as this were prized items due to the many hours they would have taken to create. They were traded across Europe. This example is made from a type of stone found at Great Langdale in the Lake District.
