Title
Market Harborough Co-Operative Society Shop
Description
A man and boy stand outside the Co-op at Great Bowden, Market Harborough, c1910. The Great Bowden shop was the first Co-op branch to be opened at Market Harborough. The pictured shop was purpose built in 1908 to replace the earlier shop. The staff are wearing the white uniform traditionally worn by grocers at the time. The boy's role would be to perform odd jobs and carry out deliveries, usually on a bicycle.
