Title
Corn Ricks At Wartnaby
Description
Once dry, the harvested corn was carted to the rickyard before the grain dropped from the ears. The corn was piled onto hut-shaped stacks called 'corn stacks', with the straw end of the sheaves facing outwards. The rick was thatched to keep the rain out, allowing the corn to be stored until it was able to be threshed.
