Description
Visit of Baden- Powell to Leicester, 1910. The founder of the Scouts Association, Baden-Powell was greeted by large numbers of scouts and Boys Brigade members, before visiting the Leicester council chambers to give an address about the Boy Scouts movement. He later travelled to what is now the location of DeMonfort University, where he bestowed medals and awards of merit to deserving youngsters. Various other celebrations were held throughout the day.
