Title
Lae Iron Age Sword Chape
Description
Copper alloy sword chape.

A simple cast 'U' shaped copper alloy chape from a sword scabbard, with a circular recess (probably for a glass stud) on one side outlined with a single line (diameter 6.5mm). The chape is partially damaged, missing the left hand upper most side, as seen from the side with the recess for the glass stud. Top edge of other side also missing. Profile of the chape is slightly plano-convex with the side with the stud flatter than the other as if it was the inner side.
