Notes
a very fine cast silver buckle and pin and folded sheet metal buckle plate. The frame is D-shaped, the inner edge of the outside edge of the frame is bevelled creating a ridge alnog the top front/outside edge, the bar is recessed with a terminal knob at each end, the knobs are decorated with multiple small raised annulets possibly formed by heavy punching, reminiscent of acorns. The pin is intact and is decorated with ridged moulding on the front of the loop and atransverse ridge at the junction between loop and shaft, the ridge is decorated with the same type of punching as the side knobs, the plate is rectangular with a round ended rectangular slot for the pin, and a recess for the frame. There are two dome headed rivets one at either side of the strap end of the plate.
