Title
Medieval silver ring brooch
Description
Medieval silver ring brooch, 18mm wide and high, 2mm thick and weighing 1.91grams. The brooch is in the form of an open rectangle with a semi circular section. Its corners are 'cut away', replaced with inward facing crescents, with slightly pointed upper edges. Its surface is undecorated and it has a flat base. The pin is present, sitting in a circular section bar. It has a bevelled edge up to a rectangular collar and it widens out above this before tapering to a point.

A lovely silver intricate, yet simple brooch from Isley Cum Langley, North West Leicestershire. This would have been worn at the neck, possibly holding a delicate shawl or part of a dress together.
