Title
L2288 - Great Central lines diverging near Grendon Underwood
Description
L2288 - Photographed looking south around 1905, these are the Great Central lines diverging near Grendon Underwood. On the left is the original route of the Last Main Line, completed in 1899. The tracks on the right were laid as part of the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line, a scheme built between 1901-05 to provide the company with an alternative route into London. The contractor responsible for building this section of the Joint Line (Grendon Underwood to Princes Risborough) was Louis P. Nott.
