Title
L1793 - Contractor's line and girder footbridge near Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire
Description
L1793 - On a muddy and uneven trackbed, two lines of contractor's temporary railway pass under a girder footbridge spanning a flooded cutting on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line near Gerrards Cross. The side of the cutting on the left of the picture has only been partially excavated, and would later slope down to the line as per the one opposite. Work on this section of the Railway was carried out by Pauling & Co. of Westminster between 1901-1905.
