Title
L1803 - New track on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line, Saunderton, Buckinghamshire
Description
L1803 - New permanent way laid in a chalk cutting on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line, circa 1905. Although the construction of the Joint Line involved widening the existing Great Western Railway from a single, to two lines of track, for practical reasons the two lines were forced to diverge north of Saunderton. At a point south of the village, the line came together again. This section of the railway (High Wycombe to Princes Risborough) was built by Mackay & Davies of Cardiff between 1902 -1905.
