Title
L1819 - Navvies standing beside an abutment, Nottingham
Description
L1819 - Navvies pose beside the brick abutment of an unfinished girder bridge at Nottingham, circa 1897. Presumably, the pile of girders on the left of the picture are some of those used to complete this structure. These men would have worked for Logan & Hemingway, the contractor responsible for building this section of the London Extension (Contract No.1, Annesley to Leake).
