Title
L1818 - Navvies working at Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire
Description
L1818 - A group of navvies, standing among the foundations of a new building, stop work just long enough for Newton to capture this excellent picture. As the photograph is thought to have been taken at Edwinstowe, some twelve miles north east of Annesley where the London Extension began, these men are not working on the construction of the Last Main Line. Beyond the building site are the old weaver's cottages.
