Title
L1837 - Girder underbridge near Rushcliffe Halt, East Leake
Description
L1837 - Photographed around 1897, this is a fine view of the small girder underbridge near Rushcliffe Halt, East Leake. With wooden gates opening onto fields at either end, this occupation bridge was clearly built to provide a farmer with access to their land. Note the structure's wing walls that are not quite completed, and the distinctive lattice work iron parapet; a typical feature of the Last Main Line.
