Title
L1848 - Girder bridge crossing contractor's railway near Loughborough
Description
L1848 - Nearing completion, this is the girder overbridge (No. 334) that crossed the Last Main Line near The Beeches, Loughborough. Considering that contractor's temporary rails were intensively used and often littered with mud and debris, these tracks appear to be relatively well laid and maintained. Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton was the firm contracted to build this section of the Railway (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone).
