Description

L1883 - Erected by the contractor to house the navvies that lived and worked by the railway, these six simple dwellings represent a huge improvement on the inadequate conditions endured by navvies for much of the nineteenth century. This particular navvy camp is thought to have been built during the construction of the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line.
