Title
L1881 - Construction of the Misbourne viaduct at Gerrards Cross
Description
L1881 - This fascinating photograph was taken during the construction of the Misbourne viaduct at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The structure was built by Pauling & Co. of Westminster as part of their contract to build the Northolt to High Wycombe section of the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line. To provide the shape of the arches, wooden centrings have been installed on the viaduct's brick piers.
