Title
L1891 - Wooden centrings for a three arch overbridge
Description
L1891 - This photograph shows the three centrings of an overbridge built to span a cutting on the Last Main Line (location unknown). These timber frames provided the shape of the arches, and once the permanent brick work was completed, the wooden structures were removed. A girder overbridge is visible beyond. Note the difference between the temporary contractor's rails on the left, and the main line permanent way on the right.
