Description
A conduit building standing in the grounds of Abington House, Station Road, Wigston Magna. The inscription says:
'This conduit was first founded by M. Eliz. Orpwood Anno 1612. Rebuilt in ye year 1709. James Annis Mayor. Edward Palmer, Francis Coltman Chamb.'
The conduit originally stood in Leicester and brought water from the Highfields area to Conduit St, where its name survives. It was later moved to Wigston Magna and demolished in 1960.
