Title
L1682 - Construction of Leicester Central Station
Description
L1682 - Constructing the frontage of Leicester's Great Central Station, 28.1.1899. Looking at this photograph, it is difficult to believe that less than two months later, the Line's first express passenger train left Marylebone. The contractor responsible for building this section of the London Extension (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone) was Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton.
